How do I get to the Courthouse and Greenville?
The Courthouse is in the middle of Greenville at the intersection of US Hwy 27 Alt. and GA Hwy 109. From the north, take I-85 to Exit 41, Moreland-Greenville exit. Take US 27 Alt. and GA Hwy 41 south for about 20 mils towards Greenville. From the west, take GA Hwy 109 from LaGrange. From the east, you should take GA Hwy 18 and GA Hwy 109. From the south from Columbus, take US Hwy 27 Alt. to Warm Springs and continue on this road into Greenville. Back to the Top

When does the Board of Commissioners meet?
The Board has two regularly scheduled meetings each month. The first meeting is on the 2nd Wednesday at 9:00 am and the second meeting is on the 4th Tuesday at 7:00 pm. From time to time the Board will have special called meetings and/or worksessions which we will be announced to the public in compliance with the open meetings law. Back to the Top
What is the County property tax rate?
The tax rate for county operations is 12.217 mills and the tax rate for the school system is 19.00 mills. An additional 0.25 mills is for the State. Back to the Top
What is the County sales tax rate?
The total tax rate is 7%. This rate is made up of the following: 4% goes to the state, 1% is a local sales tax which proceeds are split between the county and cities, 1% is special local option sales tax for the school system, and another 1% is a special local option sales tax for specific county and city capital projects. Where is the new County Admin Building?
Located at 17234 Roosevelt Hwy Building B in Greenville, take 27/41 north out of Greenville turn right on Gay Connector and it is the first driveway on the right, building is on the right directly across the lot from the Health dept. Here is where you will find the Commissioners Chambers, Commissioners offices, also offices of the, County Administrator, County Clerk, Accounts Recievable/Payable, Finance Director, Water Authority, Coroner, and the Meriwether County IDA.
